JEANELLA FRASER, MADRE'S ARTISAN. 

My personal quest to create the best sourdough bread started on a vacation to the Mediterranean where I encountered the finest artisanal sourdough bread I had ever had -- in the form of an exquisite soup bowl.

I returned home obsessed with recreating this sourdough bread.  Ultimately learning I couldn’t just remake this Mediterranean Bread Artisan’s creation, I ended up in pursuit of a recipe of my own -- which took over a year to develop and perfect.

I had finally crafted a clean, unique recipe -- consisting of only 4 primary ingredients -- that my family and friends absolutely loved!  Even my loving, but now skeptical husband… who shook his head from afar as he watched all my (mostly failed) “bread experiments” for over the past year had agreed -- this bread I had created was officially “something very special!”  He simply asked whether it was possible to "sandwich-it-up,” and make it into sandwich loaves so we could make different sandwiches and melts with it as well.

After some research, I not only discovered no other Sourdough-SANDWICH bread on the market, but also found all of the sandwich bread recipes included oils, sugars and different additives -- which I absolutely refused to include in my bread!  After a few months of trial and error, I perfected a truly unique, small-batch recipe and process that ultimately became Madre’s Artisan Sourdough-Sandwich Bread.
